Donald Edwin Bone, 87, of Long Beach died Friday, November 21, 2008 in Long Beach.
Mr. Bone was born in New Orleans, LA and had been a resident of Long Beach since 1960. He was an active member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach where he was an eucharistic minister and usher. He was a graduate of Tulane University and member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a retired school teacher at Long Beach High School, where he was head of the math department. He was a member of the Long Beach Rotary Club. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and served at Pearl Harbor.
Mr. Bone is preceded in death by his wife Sue Wilson Bone and his parents, George Wilhelm Bone and Margaret Lassabe Bone.
He is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Crockett of Long Beach and Susan Winans of Rosedale, LA, and three grandsons, William Winans III of Nacogdoches, TX, Justin Hooks of Gulfport and Donald Lee Winans of Baltimore, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Long Beach at 3:00PM where friends may visit from 1:30PM till 3:00PM at the church.
