Donald G. Balius, Sr., of Biloxi died Saturday, April 25, 2009. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our father/brother, Donald G. Balius Sr., on Saturday, April 25, 2009.
A life long resident of Biloxi, owner and operator of Donald Balius Iron Works on Caillavet St., for over 50 years, until 2005 when it was destroyed by Katrina. He learned his trade early in life at his fathers shop and hardware store on Pointe Cadet at Balius and Son on Howard Avenue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Maria (Pisarich) Balius.
Donald is survived by his children; Donna Senseney (Robert) Lipscomb, Noel (Dianna) Balius, Don (Yvonne) Balius, Darel Balius and Dann (Karen) Balius, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and his sister, Patsy Premeaux.
At his request, there will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your favorite children hospital.
My family would like to thank all of his friends and family members that visited him while he was in the hospital and during his stay at the Greenbrier Center. This meant the world to him. Greenbrier, thank you so much, your Staff and Management are the best.
