Donald Edgar Hammons

Donald Edgar “Donnie” Hammons, 83, of Long Beach, died Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of Long Beach. Donnie was a retired painter and had previously served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Baptist faith and his passion was racing horses. Donnie was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Hammons, a daughter Sue Hammons and a son, Donnie Hammons, Jr. He is survived by his daughters Lindy Hammons and Kelli Hammons; son Terry Hammons; sister Lynn Hammons; eight grandchildren, Cody Hammons, Kirk Fayard, Renee Fayard, Justin Hammons, Chasity Robinson, Travis Hammons, Jessica Hammons and Amanda Hammons and 11 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Allen Cemetery in Long Beach. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS is honored to serve the family.
