Donald John Batia, Sr.

Donald John Batia, Sr., 75, of Vancleave and former resident of Ocean Springs joined his heavenly father on July 11, 2011. Donald was born in Biloxi, MS on January 28, 1936. He is the beloved husband of Ann Webb Batia and father to four children; Lisa Batia (Rick Owen), Sherri Vaughn (David), Donald Batia, Jr. (Jerri), Greg Batia and companion Anna Swan. Paw Paw's greatest joy was his grandchildren; Matthew Tiblier (Krystal), Trae Broome (Carl Ann Keel), Chad Broome, Dillon Batia, Lindsey Batia, Brady Batia, Clay Vaughn, great-granddaughter, Rosalyn Tiblier, and his beloved four-legged companion, Layla. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bertha Batia, and brothers, Cecil, Bill and Earl. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 11:00 am where friends may visit from 10~11 am at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery. Donald's family would like to thank special friends, Sue and Johnny White, The Broome Family and Fort Bayou Baptist Church for their thoughts and prayers. The Batia family would also like to thank the Staff of Ocean Springs Hospital for making his last moments comfortable and possible for Donald's family to surround him with their love.
