Donald O. Sigworth, 79, of Gulfport, died Friday, April 28, 2006 in Gulfport. Mr. Sigworth was born in in DuBois, PA and had been a resident of the Coast since 1962.
He was a member of Bel Aire Baptist Church in Gulfport. He previously served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from USM as Physical Plant Director and was also Building and Electrical Inspector for the City of Long Beach. He loved family, outdoor activities and most of all, he loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. S. O. Sigworth and Electa Spencer Sigworth; and a sister, Naomi Karlson.
Mr. Sigworth is survived by his wife, Barbara Sigworth of Gulfport; two daughters, Jan Deschenes of Long Beach and Tiffany Sones of Gulfport; a step-daughter, Cyndi O'Mar of Gulfport; three sons, Brad Sigworth of Long Beach, Lonnie Sigworth of Gulfport, and Sean Sigworth of Ocean Springs, a step-son, Keith Lee of Picayune; a sister, Sara Nader of Indiana; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Monday, May 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
