Donald Paul Schaefer

Mr. Donald P. "Dugie" Schaefer, age 53, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Schaefer was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. He was a US Air Force veteran and loved the Gulf Coast and all water activities. He was preceded in death by his father, Don C. Schaefer and grandparents, Herman and Christine Lauf. Survivors include a son, Steven Schaefer, Steven's mother, Brenda Schaefer, Donald's mother, Evelyn Schaefer, all of Ocean Springs, two sisters, Diane (Robert) VanLoan of Helena, AL., and Denise (Chip) Wurslin of Ocean Springs, a brother, Dwayne (Terry) Schaefer of Mandeville, LA., and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, from 5-7 PM, with a 7 PM memorial service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. A committal service will be on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 10 AM in Biloxi National Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. James Martin and the staff of the Ocean Springs Nursing Center for their care and support.
