Mr. Donald Ray Waltman, Sr., age 44, of Vancleave, MS., died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in New Orleans, LA.
Mr. Waltman was born on August 16, 1965, in Biloxi, MS. and was a lifelong resident of Vancleave. He was a former employee of Walters Diving and Marine in Pascagoula, and was currently employed with Cheyenne Steel out of Mobile, AL. He was easy going, very laid back and enjoyed the outdoors, mainly fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed singing karaoke, mostly singing to his wife, "Don't close your Eyes" by Keith Whitley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Waltman, sisters, Ida Waltman and Bernadette Waltman, brother, Sam Bang, and brother-in-law, Kenny Joe Howard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Rhonda Rene' Wilson Waltman, was a loving father to his five children, two daughters, Erin Waltman and Courtney Waltman, three sons, Donald Ray "D.J." Waltman, Jr., Shane Waltman, and Troy Wehr, two sisters, Annie Howard and Rita Griffith, brother, Robert Glen "Nuke" Waltman, father-in-law, Louis Waltman, two half-brothers, John Waltman and James Waltman, two half-sisters, Linda Creel and Martha "Munk" Pipkin, and several nieces and nephews.
As your family, we want you to know that even though your time was short, we know that God needed another Angel so he chose you. You will be deeply missed here, but in our hearts we know that you will be waiting for us at those Pearly Gates. We will wait until then when the good Lord calls us home, and we will once again be reunited in God's beautiful Kingdom where we will spend eternity with Him.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 9, 2010, from 11 am until 12 noon, with a 12 noon chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Vancleave Holiness Church Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
