Donna Rose Surwill

Donna R. Surwill, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born on December 9, 1944, in Wayne County, West Virginia, the only child of the late Joseph Fazzio and Effie Marie Crum. She grew up in the hills of West Virginia, and attended school there until her marriage to Claude Neal Toler. The family eventually
moved to Pascagoula, MS in 1968, where her husband pastored a church for three years, and later moved to Ocean Springs, MS. Donna started working for the Ocean Springs School District, and later worked for Ferson Optics also in Ocean Springs. Donna's family joined Glad Tidings Assembly of God church in Ocean Springs.

In 1977, Donna and her three children married Michael J. Surwill, an electronics engineer working at Ingalls Shipbuilding. This marriage lasted for forty-six years until her death.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. Surwill; her daughters, Mary L. Thurlo and Kimberly G. Cycyk, both of Ocean Springs; her sons, Claude O'Neal Toler of Ocean Springs, and Michael B. Surwill, currently residing in Fresno County, California. There are six grand children, Holly Thurlo of Ocean Springs, MS, Tiffany Cycyk of Biloxi, MS, Matthew Toler of Denver, CO, Joshua Toler currently residing in Florida, and Rebecca and Erik Surwill, living in Fresno County, CA, and five great-grand children, Shane and Mason Toler of Ocean Springs, Kayleigh and Alyssa Schmidt of Biloxi, MS, and Ava Surwill of Fresno County, CA.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Friends may visit 2 hours prior.
