Donovan Baker

Donovan Baker, 60, of D'Iberville, MS died on Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Gulfport, MS. Mr. Baker was a native of Lafollett, TN and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast for the past 20 years. He was a graduate of Tennesse Tech and a member of Delta Tau Delta. He was also a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Baker was a thoughtful and loving person, always caring for others even when he didn't feel well. He was a fun loving, faithful man with a warm smile. Don's personality could win over anyone. He was a very intelligent man and a history buff, retelling history stories in a captivating way. In sickness and in health, Don always kept his cool and maintained his composure and charming sense of humor. He always put everyone's needs above his own. A great son, brother, husband and father, the best anyone could ever hope for. Don praised God and always thanked him for his many blessings, even when times got tough. He fought back cancer to give his family five extra years of him; he fought a great battle. Don always appreciated the beauty of nature, and loved to listen to the rain and watch sunsets. His other favorites were oldies music and old movies, family vacations, Christmas holidays and just being at home with his wife and children. For fun he mostly enjoyed dining out and going to the movies. Don will be sadly missed by his wife, children, family and friends.
