Mrs. Dora Lee Clark, 97, of Pass Christian, MS, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020. She was born September 29, 1922, in LaGrange, GA, daughter of Miley Frank and Eudora (Brumlow) Lively. After attending LaGrange High School, Dora Lee met and married James A. Fields. They settled in LaGrange and had three children before James served in the US Army during World War II. Dora Lee went to work for Callaway Mills for twelve years. After her husband’s death in 1956, she relocated to Johnson City, TN, to become manager of Charm Fashions. She met and married Cecil Clarence Clark in 1958. She then worked for Denise Lingerie as a supervisor, eventually becoming President of the Local Chapter of International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union (ILGWU). She worked hard for many workers’ benefits before she retired. After Cecil’s death in 2004, Dora Lee moved to the MS Gulf Coast. She loved to travel. She and Cecil traveled through most of the US, Canada and Mexico. Dora Lee was a Baptist most of her life and involved in many church and civic activities. In 2006, she became Catholic and loved Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biloxi, MS. She loved God and put herself in His hands. In addition to her parents, Dora Lee was predeceased by two sisters, Louise (Walt) McDonald, and Orene (George) Abbott; two husbands, James A. Fields and Cecil Clarence Clark; two nieces, Angeline Workman and Merry Durrell; and one nephew, Ralph Cole. Survivors include her three children, Priscilla Janice Fields, Joy Arie (Steve) Dennison, and James Lester (Karen) Fields; a niece Ellen Ruth (Dave) Bartlett and a nephew Ted (Tita) Abbott. Her grandchildren include Bobbie Allen (Amber) Ford, Jr. and James Edward (Tammy) Ford. Dora Lee’s great-grandchildren are Bobbie Allen (Ashley) Ford, III, Stacey (Matt) Wane, Justin Marshall Ford, and Malinda Maxine Fields. A memorial will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Dixie White House Nursing Facility for the wonderful care of Dora Lee. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery with arrangements made by Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. The family prefers memorials to Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Biloxi @ www.nativitybvmcathedral.org. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
