Doris Janette (Adair) Davis, 81, of Biloxi, MS died Monday, November 12, 2012 in Biloxi. Doris was born on December 8, 1930 in Sylacauga, AL. She was a graduate of Sylacauga High School and Birmingham Business/Secretarial College and she was retired from the Civil Service, 403rd ANG, Keesler AFB. She was a loving wife and mother. Doris loved gardening and she belonged to Orchid Society until 2005 when her Orchids were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and she fell ill. She also enjoyed the performances at the Biloxi Little Theater. Doris is preceded in death by her father, Lawson Anderson Adair; her mother, Ethel Mae Bentley; her brother, William Henry Adair; and her sister, Wilma Cellian Adair. Survivors include her husband, Richard Davis; her sons, Richard Wayne and wife Lynn of Petal, MS, Michael Lee of Gulfport, MS Timothy Howard and wife Scheila of Biloxi, MS and Matthew Gregory and Cara of Biloxi, MS; her sister, Irene Acklin of Sylacauga, AL; her brother, Alvin Anderson Adair of Reno, NV; her grandchildren, Matthew Lawson, Lucas James, Brandon Troy, Justin Kurtis, Miles Jon, Ashlen Clarice and Hollie Sleeseman; and many nieces and nephews. A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
