Doris Marie Migues Jarrett, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Jarrett was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and she loved her Heavenly Father. She served her church with a happy heart in many ways, some of which include Altar Society, Pre-Marriage Team, Cursillo Team, Eucharistic Minister, Lay Altar Server, Legion of Mary, Mass Lector (she did this in French for 1699 Mass), RCIA Team of Adults, Vacation Bible School, Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, Parish Council Member, Recipient of the Light of Christ Medal and she also received a Papal Blessing. Mrs. Jarrett was also a member of Kings Daughters, Ocean Springs Circle, where she volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She also volunteered at the Lord is My Help.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Amedese Migues of New Iberia, LA; her husband, A.L. “Jerry” Jarrett of Ocean Springs; her son, Nolly J. DuBose of Ocean Springs; and her brothers, Reed and Reecey Migues of New Iberia, LA.
Mrs. Jarrett’s survivors include her daughter, Rachel (Bill) Milsted of Ocean Springs; her son, Paul (Freda) Derouen of Woolmarket; her daughter-in-law, Ileen DuBose of Ocean Springs; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her brother, Tracy (Sarah) Migues of New Iberia, LA.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for the special care given to their mother.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
Visitation will be held at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a 6:30 pm recitation of the Rosary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
