Doris Nelson Deno (Hot Tamale Lady), 67 of D'Iberville died Sunday, August 3, 2008 in D'Iberville.
Doris was a devoted and caring person who gave to a lot of people and family. She was a caregiver and spiritual giver in many ways. She was affectionately know as the "Hot Tamale Lady" for 32 years in D'Iberville which she started in her front yard.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Miral Nelson and Mary Bosarge Nelson, brothers, Walter and Milton Ware and sister, Rose Marquez.
Survivors include sons, Mike Deno and R.J. Deno, daughters, Tina (Gordon) Gollott, Shanna (Chuck) Burdine, sisters, Deloris Walston, Millie Dean, Geraldine Keller, grandchildren, Ray, Nina, Cody, Michael, Elijah, and great-grandchildren, Saylar, Blake and Breanna; and the father of her children, Roland Deno; and numerous family and friends.
Visitation is Friday, August 8, 2008, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service will be Saturday, August 9, 2008, 10:00 a.m. Both will take place at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Interment is in Biloxi City Cemetery.
