Doris R. Greathouse

Doris R. Greathouse, 80, of Biloxi, MS died on June 9, 2008 in Metairie, LA at East Jefferson General Hospital following complications from general anesthesia. Mrs. Greathouse was a retired housewife and mother. She was born in McAdoo, PA and lived in Biloxi, MS for the past 28 years. During the past year she had moved to the Windsor, a retirement community in Mandeville, LA. What a wonderful devoted, loving mother and wife. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and especially her quick sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John P. Greathouse, a retired Coast Guard Pilot. She is survived by her daughters, Terre Matranga and husband, Joseph J. Matrange, III, Gina Greathouse; sons, John P. Greathouse, Jr. and special friend, Laura Marshall; James Greathouse and wife, Cristina Greathouse; grandson, Matthew Greathouse; sister, Edythe Hambrice. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to: The Humane Society of South MS, 2615 25th Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Friends may visit one hour prior to service time.
