Doris Jean Thielker

Doris Jean Thielker, age 85, of Gulfport, MS (previous resident of Ocean Springs) passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022 surrounded by her family at SRH Gulfport.

Doris was born April 24, 1937 in Claude, Texas where she graduated high school in 1955. She was married to the love of her life, David, for over sixty-one years. As a military wife, Doris had a variety of jobs, including retail sales and creating crafts in her spare time. She adored music and was very active in her church, where she sang in the choir and played the piano. She enjoyed having lunch, socializing with friends and watching the Atlanta Braves.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Blanche Winkcompleck; husband, David H. Thielker; son, Paul Thielker; and brother, Dean Winkcompleck.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Kim) Thielker and Jim (Marla) Thielker; sister, Janice Wesson; brother, Joe (Esther) Winkcompleck; daughter-in-law, Vicki Schneider; grandchildren, David (Lindsey) Thielker, Matt (Erin) Thielker, Jason Thielker, Brett (Brandi) Thielker; great-grandchildren, Brooksly Thielker, Addalyn Thielker, Ireland Thielker, David Thielker, Michael Thielker and Josh Thielker; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:15 AM on Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 2004 Pass Road in Biloxi, MS. A visitation will take place from 10:30 AM until service time. Interment will take place at 12:30 PM at the Biloxi National Cemetery.

The family requests that any donations be made to St. Jude’s and Dementia/Alzheimer’s Research. The family would like to thank the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
