Dorothy "Dottie" Fayard, 94, of Biloxi, MS passed away peacefully at home with her children, Saturday March 17, 2012. Dorothy was born and lived all of her life in Biloxi. She was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Biloxi, former member of Rainbow Girls, very active and a Life Member of the PTA, member of Daughters of the Confederacy, active supporter of Biloxi Youth Sports and Biloxi High School sports, The Neighborly Club, and a longtime poll worker for Harrison County and City of Biloxi. Dorothy will best be remembered as GEE GEE to her grand and great-grandchildren along with many others. She also loved Biloxi High football, Atlanta braves baseball and was happiest planning family holiday gatherings and especially Mardi Gras. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Osmond S. Fayard, infant daughter, parents Cora Frances O'Leary Gunn and Bert O. Gunn, her step mother Adele Gunn, brothers Alvin J. Gunn and Bert O. Gunn, Jr. Survived by four children: Jane Louise Jones, Osmond S. (Butch) Fayard, Jr., Julie Anne (Joe) Smith and Melinda Victoria (Freddie) Fountain, 12 grandchildren:Barbara (Brian) Lepre, Jammie (Harold) Hageman, Jessica Jones, Rusty Jones, Dusty Jones, Ann Marie Fayard, Rhonda Fayard, Jason Smith, Noah Smith, Christopher Fountain, Freddie O. Fountain, Nicholas Fountain and Victoria Cecile Fountain, and 8 great-grandchildren: Bailey and Brynna Lepre, Colton Hageman, Hunter Bowers, Cailey Ladnier, Christian and Chloe Fayard and Jayden Smith. Visitation will be Thursday, March 22,2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family perfers donations to Coalville United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or charity of your choice. The family would also like to express appreciation to the staff of KARE IN HOME HEALTH, Hospice of Light, and PDN.
