Dorothy Funk

Hazel Dorothy Funk, age 84, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Dorothy was born August 21, 1933 in Williamsburg, West Virginia to Cecil and Gladys Lemasters. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Marion Lemasters. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Charles G. Funk of Long Beach; five children, Robert Funk (Wendy) of Manhattan, KS, Michael Funk (Suzanne) of Chuluota, FL, Steven Funk, Oviedo, FL, Patricia Weigand (Michael), Long Beach, MS, and Sandra Hollis (Nick), Gulfport, MS; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members and friends. Dorothy raised five children with her husband during his career in the U. S. Army. She was devoted to her family, making their care and happiness the focus of her life. She will be missed terribly at family “Happy Hour” but God will hold her close and her gentle and loving spirit will forever live in the hearts of her family. Dorothy will be interred at Biloxi National Cemetery in a private service with her family.
