Dorothy Campbell Houtz, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, February, 26th, 2025.
Dot, as everyone knew her, was born in Hattiesburg Ms. She was a longtime resident of Gulfport, MS. She was a graduate of Hattiesburg High School and also attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Dot was an active member, until these past few years of sickness, of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gulfport. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Nana, and Gigi. She will be greatly missed.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Bert Sr. and Lois Campbell; her brother, Bert Campbell Jr.; her husband, George W. Houtz Jr.; and her son, George W. “Bucky” Houtz III.
Survivors include her brother, Ron Campbell (Donna) of Hattiesburg, MS; her two sisters- in -law, Betty Campbell of Brewton, AL and Minnie Weaver of Gulfport, MS; 3 children, Carla Blackwood (Charlie), of Gulfport, MS, Rhonda Houtz of D’Iberville, MS, and Brian Houtz (Andrea) of Bristol, WI. She also has 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one on the way. She has many nephews and nieces, whom she loved dearly.
Dot spent her last 3 years as a resident of Summerfield Senior Assisted Living in Gulfport, who were like family to her.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery. A gathering for family and friends, will follow from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, in Gulfport. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Houtz family.
