Dorothy Lynn Heaslip Moore was born on February 21, 1936 in New Orleans to James Baker Heaslip and Margaret Martinez Heaslip. She grew up in New Orleans and attended Sacred Heart Academy in New Orleans in lower school. Her family moved to Houston while she was in the 7th grade and she went to Lanier Junior High, then to Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, and graduated in 1954.

She went to Newcomb College in New Orleans graduating in 1958. A year later she married and had two daughters, Diane Brennecke Christy and Jennifer Brennecke Gerarve.

In 1974 Lynn married Thomas Aquinas Moore, M.D. and in 2002 they settled in Fargo, ND. Her life in Fargo was happy and she made many friends. After her retirement she did volunteer work with RSVP then put most of her energy in the Fargo Public Library and was a member of the Friends of the Fargo Public Library.

Lynn is preceded in death by her brother, James Perry Heaslip, parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband Thomas Moore, MD, her brother Robert Samuel Heaslip, her two daughters, Diane and Jennifer and three stepchildren, Erin Elizabeth Moore, Kelley Kathryn Moore Jarecke and Thomas A. Moore, Jr. She also had 5 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Lynn was a great lover of animals, especially dogs and cats, books and reading, knitting and crocheting, cooking and the western part of this great country.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend services honoring Lynn at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. New Orleans on Friday, September 1, 2023. A visitation will be held from 9AM until 11AM with a memorial service to follow. Inurnment will take place in Pass Christian, MS.
