Dorothy Mae Ostarly Mouney

Dorothy O. Mouney, age 77, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Mouney was born on February 17, 1929 in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of Ocean Springs for the last 32 years. She was a very loving and wonderful mother and housewife and a devout member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. She was also a member of Ocean Springs Hospital Auxiliary for many years. Mrs. Mouney was preceded in death by her mother, Amanda O. Faustermann; her father, Frank L. Ostarly; her step-father, Joseph Faustermann; brother, Leo A. Ostarly and nephew, Steven Kunz. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Joseph W. Mouney; daughter, Susan M. (Michael) Major of Madisonville, LA; son, Joseph D. Mouney and fiancé, a very special caregiver, April Atchley both of Ocean Springs; sister, Mary Kunz of New Orleans, LA; nephew, Alan Kunz of New Orleans, LA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mom truly made our house a home. She was always thinking of others and freely gave of her time. She greeted everyone with a loving smile and just really loved life. Mom also welcomed everyone that came through our doors and made them feel right at home. She was a beautiful and wonderful mother, wife and overall person who was loved by many and will be sadly missed. We love you, Mom. A special loving thanks to all at Quality Hospice and to a special caregiver, April Atchley. Your special love and care were very comforting to her and her family throughout. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a 5:30 Rosary on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, where friends and family may visit one hour prior to service. Burial to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
