Douglas Joseph Arguelles

Douglas “Dougie” Joseph Arguelles, 60 of Vancleave, MS fell asleep in Jesus on September 3, 2023.

He was born in Gulfport, MS to Frank Charles “Mullet” Arguelles and Ann Ashley Levine. He was a MS Gulf Coast native. He was recognized as a hard worker with great work ethics. He was a talented painter and drywaller who alongside of Thomas Davis, worked with several contractors and homeowners along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He had a passion for what he did and became family to many people he worked with. He enjoyed helping others, nature, working hard, and loved his wife tremendously. He was a funny story teller, and he had a very tender, generous heart that took care of his family and others. He believed in holding up the constitution and standing for the flag. He had a grateful heart to Christ for all his blessings. This world is only temporary and we have the blessed assurance of the second coming of Christ.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Frank Charles “Mullet” Arguelles; sister, Frances Ann Gillich; brothers, Ray Anthony Arguelles and Billy Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jill Arguelles; mother, Ann Ashley Levine; siblings, Deborah Kay Iversen, Sylvia Ann Holland, and Tommy Ray Williams; many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly; six cats; and two dogs, Precious and Rosko.

The family would like to extend a thank you to everyone for all of the love, care, support, and generosity you have shown.

In honor of Doug’s memory, the family is holding a celebration of life at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS. Friends may visit one hour prior. We invite anyone who knew and loved Doug to attend and remember his life.
