James H. “Doc” Waddell, M.D., 79, of 1112 LaFontaine Ave died on April 8, 2005. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home with burial at Crestlawn Cemetery in Ocean Springs. Rev. Tim Brown will officiate. The family will be at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2005. A native of Washington County, Alabama, Doc Waddell has lived in Ocean Springs since 1953. He was a WW II veteran, a Mason, a member of the McLeod Lodge, Past Potentate (1999) of the Joppa Shrine, team doctor of the OSHS Greyhounds for a decade, past president of the O.S. School Board, and an Anesthesiologist at Biloxi Memorial Hospital. After retirement “Doc” was in private practice with an office in Ocean Springs He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia; and by his brother, Pete. He is survived by his wife and partner of 39 years, Miriam; his brothers Cleo Waddell (Kate), Sam Waddell (Betty Jean), and George Waddell (Bernice); sisters Mary Helen Bird and Janice Morrison (Bob); seven children: Glen Robinson, Carolyn Bohnenstiehl, Jerry Robinson (Valerie), Dr. James H. “Butch” Waddell, Jr.(Tracey), Scott Robinson (Martha), Dr. Faye Gilbert (John), and Lee Ann Carter (Michael); 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; by his family of friends in the Shrine and in Ocean Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Joppa Shrine Center, New Van Fund, 13280 Highway 67, Biloxi, MS 39532
