Dr. Malcolm Louis Latour, age 77, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, in Biloxi, MS.
Dr. Latour was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute in Lafayette , LA. and attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans. He practiced medicine in New Orleans until 1977, moved to the coast and practiced medicine until the mid 1990's. Dr. Latour was President of Staff at Biloxi Regional Hospital for six years and past president of the Rotary in Biloxi. He was a history buff and loved to tell jokes. He was an avid gardener who loved fruit trees and also collected antiques.
Dr. Latour was preceded in death by his parents, Fernand Latour and Mathilde Clavelle Latour and brothers, Carlton Latour, Peco Latour and Simon Latour.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Nelda Gilbert Latour of Ocean Springs, MS., three daughters, Dr. Lydia Latour of Ocean Springs, MS., Melanie (Dubba) Webre of Luling, LA., and Jennifer Wright, also of Ocean Springs, MS., two sons, Malcolm (Louella) Latour, Jr. of Tasmania and Dr. Jonathan (Patty) Latour of Lubbock, TX., a sister, Rita Corkern of Lafayette, LA., two brothers, Patrick Latour of New Orleans, LA. and Jimmy Latour of Lake Charles, LA., and ten grandchildren, Renee' Latour Evans, Whitney Webre, Taylor Webre, Emily Wright, Anna Wright, Christopher Latour, Catherine Latour, Daniel Latour, James Latour and John David Latour.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2011, from 9 am until 11 am, with an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul Community Pharmacy, P.O. Box 1228, Biloxi, MS. 39533.
The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
