Dr. Ramanand V. Bhakta, 79, went on to find his summit on Thursday, July 19, 2007.
Dr. Bhakta was a long time resident of the coast. He loved to travel and take long morning and evening walks. He left a legacy of faith, love, strength, pursuit, discipline, and sense of humor to all who knew him. His ability to deal with lifes ups and downs with calmness, clarity, wit and optimism is inspirational to friends and family. He was born November 24, 1927 in India, graduated from University of Gurkul Kangdee in North India, practiced medicine in Gujarat.
He immigrated to the U.S. in 1976, lived in several states and has been a Gulf Coast resident since 1987. He loved reading, gardening, walking, being outdoors and traveling. He lived life with zeal and each day to its fullest. Dr. Bhakta looked forward to the next day, which he taught his children till the end.
He is survived by his beloved wife, caring son, daughter-in-law, two loving daughters and sons-in-law, six wonderful grand children, a great grand son.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, 9:00 a.m. at Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi.
