Dr. Thomas H. Snell, 89 years old of Gulfport, danced his way into eternity on Monday, October 05, 2009. Born in Newcastle, Australia on December 28, 1919, “Doc,” a World War II veteran, enjoyed a life of service after receiving a Doctor of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in 1947. He pursued a Post Graduate Philosopher of Chiropractic degree and was conferred in 1948. He married Aliceada McInnis June 28, 1948, and in 1950 he received another Post Graduate Diploma from Lincoln Chiropractic College, where he also taught. He practiced in Biloxi on Reynoir Street until he moved to Texas in 1969. He returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1977 and practiced on Pass Road until his retirement in 2000. He took great pleasure in treating his patients for 50 years, often making house calls after hours to those in need. Dr. Snell enjoyed fishing and golfing with his four children, and he loved to dance and take cruises to exotic locations after retirement. He spent many hours playing cards with his friends at the Elks Lodge in Biloxi, MS, camaraderie that he truly relished.
