E. Mark Toups

Electon Mark Toups, age 89, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

Mark was born on March 25, 1934 in Biloxi, MS to the late Lolles and Nita Hebert Toups. He was a 1951 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 1958 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. He owned and operated his own certified public accountant firm for over 40 years and was an auditor for the City of Ocean Springs for over 30 years. He was an U.S. Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Shields during the Korean War.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Francis “Larry Toups of Pascagoula, MS and Juanita Santinelli of Biloxi, MS.

Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Ellen Anne Toups of Ocean Springs, MS; children, Tommy (Deborah) Toups of Ocean Springs, MS,  Cathy (Dwayne) Rash of D’Iberville, MS, Tricia Perry of Ocoee, FL, and Anne Marie (Ralph) Borries of Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Dr. Morgan (Jarrod) Biggo of Los Angeles, CA, Brennan Perry of Ocoee, FL, Madison Perry of Ocoee, FL, Maggie Toups of Ocean Springs, MS, Avery Toups of Vancleave, MS and Riley Borries of Ocean Springs, MS; great-grandchildren, Brayden Toups of Ocean Springs, MS, and Hendrix Hayes Perry of Bell, FL; and by his sister, Edwina (John) Wells of Gulfport, MS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the St. Alphonsus Capital Fund in his memory would be appreciated.
