Eddie Raymond Ray

Eddie Raymond Ray , 74, of Gulfport died Saturday, October 9, 2006 in Gulfport. Mr. Ray was born in Thorsby, AL and was a 1952 graduate of Thorsby Institute. He had been a resident of the coast since 1976. He was a member of Pass Road Baptist Church and the Independent Order of Foresters. Mr. Ray was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he served in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Ray is preceded in death by his daughter Barbara Hodgins; parents C. R. and Ruby Ray; brothers Carey Ray, Harry Ray, Marshall Ray and Earl Driver; sisters Evie Lou Middlebrooks, Hertalene Kirby, Felma Quinn, and Lola Bedsole. He is survived by his wife Eva Ray of Gulfport; daughters Bridgette L. Davis of Mandeville, Kimberly Ray Gaspard of Gulfport, and Cathy Harper and Sandy Ray of Huntsville, AL; sister Opal Ross of Dothan; grandchildren Crystal Sewell, Cassandra McElroy, Erin McElroy, Alyssa Gould, Joshua Newton, Jeremy Settles, Matthew Ray, Shannon Harper, and great-grandchild Sofia Sewell. Services will be Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 2PM at Pass Road Baptist Church in Gulfport. Visitation will be from 12-2PM. Interment will be in Wedgeworth Cemetery in Saucier.
