Edison Emery Parrish, age 81, of Ocean Springs, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2008.
Emery was born in Biloxi and remained a life long resident of the Gulf Coast. Mr. Parrish was a United States Navy Veteran, who served in the Okinawa Campaign of World War II. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 26 years, after which he worked in Real Estate for 30 years in the family's business, Parrish Realty. Emery was an avid fisherman who taught many people how to fish and throw a cast net.
Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Skermetta Parrish; brothers, Elvin and Elmer Parrish and his parents, Henry and Hazel Parrish.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Carter and Sherry Clifford both of Ocean Springs and Dorothy Seibel of Slidell, LA; a son, Edison Parrish of Biloxi, MS; a sister, Elsie Martin of Macon, GA; two brothers, Earl Parrish of Ocean Springs, MS and Elwood Parrish of Biloxi, MS; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008 in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment to follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
