Edith Hover Anderson, age 98, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Gulfport. She was born in McHenry and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Gulfport for over 70 years where she was a Sunday School Teacher and nursery worker.
Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by her parents, James Murphy Hover and Magdalena (Lena) Treutel Hover; her husband, F. L. Anderson; and a son, Gilbert "Gil" Anderson.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Anderson Hathcock (Mark) of Gulfport; three sons, Frank Anderson (Joan) of Ocean springs, Wayne Anderson of Gulfport, and Danny Anderson (Glenda) of Gulfport; a sister, Lena Mae Walker of Laurel; twelve grandchildren, Karen Townsend (Otha) of Ocean Springs, Edie Buchanan (Tony) of Lavaca, Ark., Tracie Auxier of Horn Lake, Tim Anderson (Laura) of Pass Christian, Meri Ann Jackson of Biloxi, Andy Anderson (Pam) of Bay St. Louis, Candi Diotte of Ocean Springs, Danny Anderson, Jr. (Jenny) of Wiggins, Kellie Lamb (Tom) of D'Iberville, Carolyn James of Gulfport, Mark Hathcock, Jr. (Cindy) of Long Beach, Adam Hathcock (Aura) of Gulfport; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 from 5 until 7:00 P.M. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel where friends may visit one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
