Edith "Joyce" LeMay Swetman passed away peacefully in her sleep into the hands of the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the age of 82. She was born on February 28, 1928 in Biloxi where she resided until moving to Diamondhead seven years ago to be closer to her daughters. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Frederick "Freddie" Swetman; her parents, J. Roger and Dorothy M. LeMay; and youngest sister, Darlene A. LeMay "Bootie". She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Narbo Vergano and husband, Tom, Jaffe Swetman Perniciaro and husband, Nuncy Perniciaro, Jr. three grandchildren, Tara Elmore, Shane Vergano, and Gina Perniciaro; a sister, Carol Holm of Kingman, AZ; a cousin, Larry Morgan and his wife, Kay of Gulfport and nieces, Holly and Crystal. Joyce, known for her "love of dance" now dances with God and his Angels. She will be sadly missed daily. Joyce and her family wish to thank Terry, Cookie, Mike, and the staff at Terry Waters Personal Home Care for all their love and kindness. A private service is planned and the family requests memorials to Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501 in her honor as she loved her cats.
