Edith Newton

Ms. Edith Clark Newton, age 90, of Biloxi, MS., died Thursday, June 15, 2006, in Biloxi. Ms. Newton was born in Marion, South Carolina. In 1982 she moved to D'Iberville, MS., to be close to her children and grandchildren. Our mother was a very loving and giving person. Her family always came first in her life. She was well known for her good home cooking, gardening, love of animals and strong will. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Newton, Sr., her parents, three sisters and one brother. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Jean Barrilleaux, son, Roy G. Newton, Jr. and his wife, Dianne, five grandchildren, Marcela Ainsworth, Vanessa Smith, Brett Meadows, Sheila Bennett and Kevin Newton, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Saturday, June 17, 2006, from 1-2 PM, with a 2 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
