Edna Esperanza Migues

May 8, 1947 — June 3, 2023

Ocean Springs, MS

Beloved by everyone who knew her, Edna Esperanza Migues was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023 at the age of 76.

Born in San Antonio, Texas on May 8th, 1947, to her parents Marcial and Esperanza Jimenez.  Edna was married to Raymond Migues, Jr. and together they raised five children: Raymond Migues, III, Leonard Flores, Antonio “Vito” Migues, Teresa Edwards, and Lisa Webber.

Edna lived life to the fullest, she never missed an opportunity to laugh and enjoy the company of others.  As a cherished friend to many, Edna always opened her home and her heart unconditionally.  She loved to cook and bake for all occasions, and according to her she made the very best gumbo and potato salad on the coast.

After settling down on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Edna and Ray established deep roots in the community as they supported their children in school and athletics.  Edna loved football on Friday nights but especially on Sunday cheering on her Cowboys.  She always believed she had divine influence over the outcome of the games, and never giving up on her team carried over into how she would encourage and cheer for those she loved.

Edna’s strong faith and love for her Church never wavered throughout her life.  She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.  Truly an angel on earth, if you knew Edna, she likely prayed for you and freely gave her beautiful and infectious smile.

After her husband Ray passed away in 1997, Edna found love again in her beloved and devoted Robert “Wayne” Williams.  Edna and Wayne have supported one another in a loving companionship.  Always referring to him as her boyfriend, she loved Wayne dearly.

Edna is survived by her devoted companion Wayne; brother, Carlos Jimenez (Yolanda); children, Leonard Flores, Antonio “Vito” Migues, Teresa Edwards (Ron), and Lisa Webber (Michael); grandchildren, Tasha, Jonathan, Katelyn, Anthony, Melaina, Selena, Mia, Stephen, Aleah, and Ryan; Godchildren, Brian Kozlowski, Christopher Jimenez.  She is preceded in death by her husband Rymond Migues, Jr; parents, Marcial and Esperanza Jimenez; sister, Lucy Flores; brother, Marcial Jimenez, Jr.; son, Raymond Migues, III.
