Edna Stegall Etzold, 82 of Black Mountain, NC passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011. A native of Gulfport, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Clyde Stegall, Sr. and Beatrice Cox Stegall. She was a 1946 graduate of Gulfport High School and attended Gulf Park College and Mississippi University for Women. She was a past member of Pineville Presbyterian Church in Pass Christian and was a member of Tabernacle Methodist Church in Black Mountain. She was an Honoary Life Member of the Gulf Coast Newcomer's Club and of the Pass Christian Yacht Club. While living in Orlando, FL, she was active in civic, recreational and educational functions. She traveled extensively in the US and Europe. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life for 63 years, David J. Etzold of Black Mountain; four children, Paulina (Bruce) of Celo, NC, Clair of Hudson, WI, David (Ann) of Rockledge, FL, and Susan (Robert) of Anniston, AL, seven grandchildren, Jessica, Amelia, Rachel, Joseph, Michael, Damon, and Alexander; five great grandchildren, Eliza, Ursula, Makena, Malea, and Mattias; her brother, Henry Clyde Stegall, Jr. (Fay) and her sister, Marilyn Stegall Petermann (Thomas). Service will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Pineville Presbyterian Church, on Menge Avenue where friends may visit beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery on 28th Street in Gulfport. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
