Edna M. Taylor

Edna M. Taylor, 87, of St. Martin, died on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Gulfport. Edna was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. She attended Biloxi High School and was named Salutatorian of her senior class of 1946. She was previously employed with Kennedy Marine Company and DeJean Packing Company as a bookkeeper. She meet her husband Cameil while employed at Kennedy Marine. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Reader, and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of Jackson County Homemakers Club. Edna was known for her seamstress skills and created many beautiful outfits through the years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Cameil L. Taylor, Jr.; son, Cameil L. Taylor, III; mother, Amelia (Cormier) Blanchard; father, Louis Blanchard; siblings, Isabel (Blanchard) Trahan, Yvonne (Blanchard) Babuchna; Clyde Blanchard; Milton Blanchard, Howard Blanchard and Irene Blanchard. Survivors include her three daughters, Mary L. Lowe (Michael), Katherine P. Taylor and Amelia E. Taylor; sons, Mark L. Taylor and Stephan J. Taylor (Sandy); sister, Eva Fountain; three grandchildren, Stefanie E. Seay (Brian), John W. Taylor, Taylor M. Lowe; and four great grandchildren, Blythe M. Seay, Donovan Z. Seay, Ezra C. Seay and Fallen G. Seay; and many special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 12 p.m. Friends may visit from 11-12pm. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
