Edward A. "Ed" Albritton, 54, of Gulfport, MS, died Sunday, September 26, 2010. Ed was born on March 20, 1956, at Fort Rucker, AL to Timothy R. Albritton and Martha Albritton.
After his father's retirement from the Air Force, Ed elected to attend the University of Mississippi majoring in Business Administration and Finance. Subsequent to his graduation from Ole Miss in 1978, he chose to make the Gulf Coast his home. After his retirement from Rowan Oil Co., Ed was a world traveler to South America, Europe, Canada and Latin America and a fine arts collector. His knowledge of the art masters, their lives and styles was sought by gallery owners and collectors. Ed was a devoted son and loving fiance' and a considerate and thoughtful brother and uncle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Timothy R. Albritton.
Ed is survived by his mother, Martha Albritton of Gulfport; brothers, Timothy R. Albritton, Jr. of Gulfport and Scott B. Albritton of Meridian; sisters, Audry A. Sherwood of Gulfport and Patricia T. Williams of San Antonio, TX; his nephews, Timothy L. Sherwood and Brian P. Sherwood of Gulfport; his nieces, Maria T. Williams of San Antonio, TX and Rebecca Williams Bartlett of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by his uncle, Kirby Smith of Lyman; and his fiancee', Linda Salmon Harris of Gulfport.
Ed's funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2010 at St. James Catholic Church on 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport beginning with a visitation at 10:30 a.m. and a Catholic Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in St. James Cemetery, Gulfport.
