Mr. Edward "Danny" Ross, 60, of Ocean Springs, MS, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Ocean Springs.
Danny was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a loving family man to his wife and children, a devoted brother to his siblings and family, a dedicated worker and a loyal friend to all. He was raised and worked on the water his entire life. First, as a fisherman who began working alongside his father, Bill Ross, during his youth on the "Lady Vera". Later, he would captain his own boats, the "Snowdrift" and Deena Lynette". In his later years he worked for the Department of Marine Resurces. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, John William Ross. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nadine Powell Ross; daughters, Deena Lynette Ross and Tomoko Ross; sons, Edward "Danny" Ross, Jr. and his wife, Marlene, Jon Elliot Ross, William W. "Bill" Ross, and James E. Ross all of Ocean Springs, and Charles Edward Ross and his wife, Rocio, of Grand Bay, AL; his mother, Elvera Catchot Ross of Ocean Springs; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Vera Ann (John) Robertson of Batesville, MS, and Judy Lynn (Randy) Lesso of Biloxi; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John W. (Linda) Ross of Pascagoula, and Robert A. (Dorothy) Ross of Ocean Springs; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Danny was a generous and caring man who, throughout his life, provided food to others. First, through his career as a fisherman and later ensuring the quality and safety of marine life. He will be sadly missed, but forever remembered for his laugh, kindness, love and generosity. Danny Ross----the great provider.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time.
