Edward R. Perkins

Edward “Buddy” Eugene Perkins, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 10, 2022.  He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, always having a warm smile on his face.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Buddy was born in Philadelphia, MS on August 3, 1946, to Edward Eugene and Blanche Perkins, and moved to the MS Gulf Coast at a very young age.  He was a 1969 graduate of St. Martin High School and a very active member of McClellan Road Baptist Church.  In 1970, he married the love of his life Monica, and they had three sons, Anthony, Tim, and Bryan.  He worked for many years at C.E. Natco and later retired after more than 20 years with the maintenance department at the VA Hospital in Biloxi.  In his spare time, Buddy loved bowling, attending Mississippi State football games, eating out with friends, and traveling with his family.

Buddy is preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 49 years Monica Hebert Perkins; parents, Edward Eugene and Blanche Perkins; and siblings, Myra Gingerella and Jeffrey Perkins.

Survivors include his sons, Anthony (Sharron,) Tim, and Bryan; grandchildren, Caitlin, Jacob, Lilliana, and Conner; and sister, Brenda (Billy) Baker.

Although our hearts are heavy today and our loss is great, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and we will join him in Heaven one day.  “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at McClellan Road Baptist Church in Latimer, where friends can visit from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow the service and be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
