Egbert "Pete" Dufrene

Egbert “Pete” Dufrene, age 42, of D’Iberville, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Singing River Hospital, Gulfport, MS. Pete was born in New Orleans, LA and moved to D’Iberville, MS when he was 12 years old. He went to D’Iberville High School and played football for the school. Pete was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He will be dearly missed by all. Pete was an avid painter and would dance when he was about to eat good food. He enjoyed watching football, the Saints were his favorite, he enjoyed music and spending time with family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theresa Lucas and James Featherston. 

Pete’s survivors include his children, Hazel Grace and Taysom James Dufrene; his siblings, Lisa Mullen (Josh) and Shawn Dufrene (Destiny): his nieces and nephews, Kobe, Haylie, Autumn, Lilly, Ella, Jazmin, Isaiah, Lil Shawn and Quinton; his great-nieces and nephews, Emma, Drake, Austin, Harleigh and Addison; and his aunts, uncles and many cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held at Shawn and Destiny Dufrene’s residence on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:30 am. Contact the family for address.
