Elaine Gloria Ryan Miller

Mrs. Elaine G. Ryan Miller, 75, of Ocean Springs passed away on Thursday, November 02, 2006. Elaine Gloria Ryan was born to Henry Louis Ryan and Elsie Seymour on November 16, 1930 in Ocean Springs and lived most of her life in Ocean Springs. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Virgil Dean Miller on March 16, 1952 to which seven children were born, two dying in early childhood. Elaine attended St. Alphonsus School and later Ocean Springs High School. She was a Catholic and was very active in her parish. Mrs. Miller taught CCD classes and other religious classes. She worked as a part-time secretary for many years. She belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Aux., Ocean Springs Volunteer Fireman's Aux. and held many offices. Her twenty five years were spent in Genealogy having done research for her family and joining the Ocean Springs Genealogy Society in 1979. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of fifty one years, Virgil Dean Miller; two infant daughters, Debra Alane and Baby Girl Miller; four brothers, Orrell, Pete, Gordon and Joseph Ryan. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Strak of Edgar, MT, Deana Roen and Teena Provost both of Ocean Springs; two sons, James Lee Miller of Pascagoula and Erin Scott Miller of Ocean Springs; one sister, Joan Ryan Llado of Biloxi; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2006 with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary at Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2006, where she will lie instate at 1:00 p.m., with a 2:00 p.m. Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Bellande Cemetery in Ocean Springs.
