Elbert “Boy” Meaut, age 86 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 25, 2022, at Ocean Springs Hospital.
Mr. Meaut was born December 24, 1935, in Biloxi, MS to the late Elbert Clinton Meaut and Dorothy Baker Meaut. He retired after 35 years of service from Mississippi Power Company. He was a member of Blessed Seelos Catholic Church, and a big supporter of the New Orleans Saints.
Mr. Meaut was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna Wallace Meaut, who was his loyal companion for over 65 years; two sons: Wayne (Angie) Meaut, Wally (Patti) Meaut, and one daughter, Regina (William) Shipton all of Biloxi; eight grandchildren: Shea, Clinton, Kristi, Candance, Keith, William, Brittany, Ryan; nine great-grandchildren: Hailey, Aaron, Jacob, Brent, Makinzee, Levi, Lane, Mason, and Maddie. He is also survived by one sister, Gloria Lestrade.
He was brave, strong, and outspoken. Elbert’s jokes and sense of humor were loved by all, and his strong morals and responsibility will forever be an example for all who knew and loved him.
With heartfelt appreciation and deepest gratitude, we would like to thank our extended family and friends for all the support and kindness shown to us. We especially thank Father Godfrey for his spiritual guidance and being with us at the end. We would also like to thank the staff in the MICU at Ocean Springs Hospital for their loving care and devotion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Francis Seelos on Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Friends may visit one hours prior to Mass. Interment will follow at Biloxi Cemetery.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue in Biloxi, is honored to serve the family of Elbert “Boy” Meaut.
