Eldon Polacek

Eldon "Al" Polacek, age 74, of Gulfport, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 in Biloxi. He was born in Bruno, NE and had been a resident of Hawthorne, CA; Ft. Worth, TX, and Gulfport, MS. He previously served four years in the U. S. Air Force in the Far East and retired from American Airline Aircraft Maintenance after 33 years of service. He continued his career at Gulfport International Airport most recently with Coastal Airlines. Mr. Polacek was preceded in death by his father, Adolph F. Polacek and a daughter, Kathy Jo MacMillan. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ware Parent Polacek of Gulfport; three sons, Michael Polacek and his wife, Lynette and Mark Polacek and his wife, Connie, both of Salem OR, Ronald Polacek and his wife, Dawn of Richardson, TX; two step-sons, Michael J. Parent of Washington and David W. Parent of Gulfport; a step-daughter, Rebekah Parent Desjardins and her husband, David of Parrish, FL; his mother, Beatrice Polacek of David City, NE; a sister, Rita Chapek and husband, Lyn of Weston, NE; a brother, Gary Polacek and wife, Geraldine of Bruno, NE; seven grandchildren Christine, Elaine, John, Melissa, and Danielle Polacek, Delaney Ann and Robert Joseph, II Desjardins and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, in Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the service.
