Eleanor Cooper Seymore, 82, of Gulfport died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 in Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her parents Sarah and Finis Ewing Cooper; grandchildren Michael Zupko and Amity McCabe; brothers and sisters Jim Cooper, Leo Cooper, Eva Walker, Mildred Bristow, and Edward Sammons; and brother-in-law, James W. Riley. Mrs. Seymore is survived by her husband of 64 years Russell L. Seymore, Sr.; son Russell L. Seymore, Jr. (Molly); daughters Marie Romano (Leo), Mary McCabe (Gary) all of Gulfport, and Patty Zupko (John) of Slidell, LA; eight grandchildren Alexa Zupko Wier, Elise Seymore Porras, Cameron Seymore, Amber Romano Ladner, Chris Romano, Carrie Seymore, Matthew McCabe, and Tyler McCabe; and one great grandson Bennett Wier. She is also survived by a twin sister, Mary Isabelle Riley, sister, Emelda Thrasher (Jim); brother, Finis E. Cooper (Emelda); sister-in-law, Iris Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Parish. She retired after 36 years of service as the bookkeeper for St. John Elementary. Mrs. Seymore took great joy in being part of the education of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless other St. John students in her 36 years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 1pm at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport. Friends may call from 11am to 1pm. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
