Eleanor “Eley” Salisbury, 76, of Gautier, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Mrs. Salisbury was born in Weehawken, New Jersey on July 3, 1931. She married Joseph “Pete” Salisbury on October 9, 1954 and was the loving mother of four children. Her husband of 49 years and her parents John and Josephine Hamilton preceded her in death. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Gautier.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cathy Salisbury, of Gautier; and three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Dr. Bill McDevitt, of Gautier, Jo-Ellen and Paul McClain; of Ocean Springs, and Mary-Kay and Matt Robichaux; of Pascagoula; four sisters, Dorothy Johnson, of Gautier; Kay Nanartowicz, of Florida; Roberta Balko and Henrietta Orner, of New Jersey; six grandchildren, Joey, Zach, Jordan and Tori Salisbury; Tiffany McDevitt and Kayla-Elizabeth Robichaux.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on Ladnier Road in Gautier with Reverend Larry McVeay officiating. Internment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Gautier.
