Eleanor Rollins Nevels

Mrs. Eleanor Rollins Nevels, age 82, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, August 19, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Nevels was a native of Meridian, MS. and a longtime resident of the coast. She was a longtime Avon representative and co-owner of Hometown Furniture in Ocean Springs. She was also a past member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred D. Rollins and Robert D. Nevels, granddaughter, Carla D. Metz father, Lawrence P. Keeton, mother, Cleo Short and stepfather, John Short. Survivors include a daughter, Cleo Metz, an adopted granddaughter, Connie McLain, both of Ocean Springs, MS., stepbrother, James A. Short, of Hammond, LA., her loving pet, Precious, a special cousin, Edmond (Marguerite) Marlow of Stone Mountain, GA., and other family members and friends. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 22, 2009, from 2 PM - 3 PM, with a 3 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
