Elijah Lee Pigue, Biloxi, MS resident since 1951, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2006. Elijah was born in Monroe, LA on January 31, 1920 and grew up in Monroe, LA graduating from Norton's Business College there. He joined the Air Force on October 26, 1940 and served for 23 years retiring in 1964. He served as special projects NCO for the school operations division at Keesler AFB and was cited for meritorious service as a non-commisssioned officer in charge of protocol for the Technical School. Mr. Pigue was a member of First United Methodist Church of Biloxi. He was a Master Mason, a member of the American Legion, Revelers Carnival Association, and was a past member of the Biloxi Fireman's and Policeman's Civil Service Board. He had been on the governor's staff of Lurleen Wallace and Albert Brewer of Alabama. Elijah worked as district manager for Glenmore Distilleries Company, Louisville, KY, retiring after 24 years to establish Pigue and Associates, Inc. in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Loftis Pigue; his daughter, Gayle Pigue Glenn and her husband, James L., III of Columbus, MS; his son, Kim Loftis Pigue and his wife, Kathleen of Mobile, AL; grandsons, James Andrew Glenn, Christopher Lee Glenn of Columbus, MS, and Douglass Lee Pigue of Mobile, AL; great-grandchildren, Caroline Glenn, Reagan Glenn, Andrew Glenn, Jr. and Waverly Glenn of Columbus, MS. Services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 20006 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Pass Road in Biloxi where friends may visit one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Family perfers memorials to First United Methodist Church , 124 Hopkins Blvd., Biloxi, MS 39530.
