Elizabeth Ann Chandler Byrd, age 73, of Biloxi, MS passed away at home on Sunday, October 3, 2021. Ann was born on July 31, 1948 in Gulfport, MS to Robert Lee Chandler, Jr. and Elsie Holder Chandler. She graduated from Gulfport High School and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from The University of Southern Mississippi. She also studied art at the University of South Alabama. Ann was a member of the MS Geographic Alliance. She taught first grade at d’Iberville Elementary School. Ann was a writer and an avid Artist. She enjoyed painting with her granddaughter, Sydney. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Carroll Byrd; and son-in-law, Robert Simmons. Survivors include her children, Carol Ann Simmons, Christy Lynn (Dan) Vacchio, and Thomas Chandler (Jessica Moss) Byrd and six grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at d’Iberville Memorial Park. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Byrd family.
