Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Arguelles McCarty, 52, President/Owner of The McCarty Group died Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Beth attended Gulf Coast Junior College and had recently moved her business to operate out of Ocean Springs, MS and New Orleans, LA. She was a member of Community of Christ Church in Gulfport. Beth was a beautiful individual whose heart was filled with inspiration and willingness to always help others throughout the Memphis community including many non-profit agencies for her volunteer work and donations. She was past president of PaLs of Porter Leath and past board member of Porter Leath Children’s Center. Beth was often at the forefront curve assisting Directors in Memphis’ major events like The Blues Ball, Cropper Classic, PaLs Sporting Clays Tournament, hosting Al Roker for his first “live” broadcast appearance from downtown Memphis In May International Barbecue Festival and the list goes on and on and on! But travel was her forte’ with her favorite places; Paris, France and Morocco the year she escorted Memphis in May authorities. Her passion for the travel industry started in the late 80’s with Midway Airlines in New Orleans, LA which transitioned her eventually her own agency in downtown Memphis for the past fifteen years. Beth specialized in group travel and special events. Her clients over the years included major corporations (local, national and international), and Memphis area television, radio and print entities incentive travel packages for personalities, listeners or client travel programs. Beth is preceded in death by her mother, Margie Jackson Arguelles; and her brother, Glenn Randolph Arguelles of Ocean Springs. Survivors include her father, Glen Arguelles; her brother, Joseph Glenn Arguelles; and her grandmother, Ina Arguelles Clark. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Porter-Leath, 868 N. Manassas St. Memphis, TN 38107 or online at www.porterleath.org/. A private graveside service for immediate family will be announced. A “Celebration of Beth’s Life” memorial gathering will take place in Memphis at a later date. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
