Elizabeth Joan Hardin Hollett, 83, best known as Jo, went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2012. Jo was born on August 16, 1929 in Cairo, Illinois to George and Ethel Hardin. She has lived in many locations including Memphis, TN; San Diego, CA; Saudi Arabia; Wenatchee, WA; Hardy, AR; and, most recently, the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Jo loved to play bingo, fish, read, listen to music, walk, and tend her rose gardens. She was an expert bookkeeper and often volunteered at local libraries and the rectory office of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of which she was a member. Jo was initiated into the Catholic faith at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Biloxi, MS in 2009.
She was preceded in death by three husbands: Reggie Maness, George Comstock, Sr. and Kenneth Hollett, Jr.; her parents; a brother, David Hardin; and sisters, Louise Rowe and Alberta Sanders. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Kurt) Corey, Moss Point, MS; son, George (Barbara) Comstock, Ocean Springs, MS; grandchildren, Alan Long, Moss Point, MS, Tara Long, Moss Point, MS, Linda (Mark) Comstock Janssen, Orlando, FL, and James Comstock, Enid, OK; sister, Mary Fairfax, Lodi, CA; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Ocean Springs Hospital System and SAAD Health and Hospice Care for their care and assistance.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 11:15 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Ocean Springs where friends may visit form 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
