Mrs. Elizabeth Jo Foster passed away Saturday, May 31, 2008, of a massive cardiac arrest. She was born Elizabeth Jo Griffin on December 23, 1933 in Mantee, MS, in Webster County, to Henry "Watson" and Bessie Davis Griffin who preceded her in death along with her sister, Mary Annie Wright. She graduated from Cumberland High School and received her Bachelor Degree in Education from MS State University and was a retired teacher from the Biloxi School District. She volunteered numerous hours in the helping of Disabled American Veterans, locally and nationally. She was also an active member of Popps Ferry Baptist Church where she volunteered her time to help others. Her zest for her youthfulness in life was her children, garndchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Foster is survived by her husband of 55 years, Atha M. Foster, Jr., whom she met while they were in high school. They were married June 28, 1953. She is also survived by her children, Michael D. (Barbara) Foster, Rodney L. Foster, Anita (Rick) Denham, and James "Barney" (Naomi) Foster, all of Biloxi; her sister, Sarah Wright of Mantee, MS; a brother, Thomas Griffin of Memphis, TN; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The family prefers memorials be made to Multiple Sclerosis of the MS Gulf Coast, 307 Chatham Road, D'Iberville, MS 39540 or to Popps Ferry Baptist Church, 2000 Popps Ferry Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
