Elizabeth Martin

Elizabeth Martin of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, died July 25, 2005 in Concord, Massachusetts at the age of 80. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 7, 1924 to the late Hamilton H. and Marion (Atwood) Sweet. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Martin. She graduated from Plainfield High School in Plainfield, New Jersey, and attended Mary Washington College in Fredricksburg, Virginia. For over twenty years, she was affiliated with the Keesler Air Force Base kindergarten as a teacher and principal, retiring as coordinator of childcare for the base in 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Marion McCullough, and son-in-law, William McCullough, of Wayland, Massachusetts, and her sister, Marion McKnight of Falmouth, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Christopher McCullough of Hingham, Massachusetts, Elizabeth Delaney of Sherborn, Massachusetts, Katherine Marion of State College, Pennsylvania, and David McCullough of South Royalton, Vermont, as well as three great-grandchildren: Katherine and Charles McCullough and Riley Elizabeth Delaney. An internment service will be held on August 1, 2005 at 11:00AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Light, 2101 HWY 90, Gautier, MS 39553.
